This year’s new batch of 2025 Apple Watches — the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3 — are no exception.
These new watches are iterative improvements on previous generations.
While they don’t release until the 19th of September 2025, there are lots of questions about the new Apple Watches.
Find out.
Available in a 42mm or 46mm aluminium or titanium case just like the Apple Watch Series 10, the Apple Watch Series 11 is the flagship Apple Watch for the everyday.
Its screen is the same as the Series 10 which was an upgrade over the Series 9 thanks to LTPO3, increasing screen responsiveness and battery life over previous generations.
Core health and sleep tracking features are the same across the Apple Watch Series 9, 10, and 11 so if you’re looking for value the smaller Series 9 remains a decent choice.
Like the Apple Watch Series 10, the Series 11 features a depth gauge underwater up to 6m which the Series 9 lacks. All three models however are water resistant to depths of 50m.
The Apple Watch Series 11 hosts the S10 chip for its computing power, just like the Series 10. This is a notable upgrade on the S9 chip inside the Apple Watch Series 9.
Major differences between the three Apple Watch Series models ultimately come down to battery life. The Apple Watch Series 11 boasts a battery that lasts up to 24 hours vs. the 18 hour lifespan of the previous models. In Low Power Mode it will last up to 38 hours. Meanwhile, its fast charge upgrade also means a 15 minute charge can keep it going for up to 8 hours.

The younger, smaller sibling of the Apple Watch family, the SE models of Apple Watch are perfect for more compact, less demanding uses.
Like the Apple Watch SE and SE 2, the Apple Watch SE 3 comes in either a 40mm or 44mm aluminium case.
The Apple Watch SE 3 display upgrades to an Always-On Retina over its predecessors’ simple Retina-only screen. Brightness and refresh rates remain the same across the three models. For a more responsive screen, consider instead an Apple Watch Series 11.
Key health and wellness functionality remains part of the Apple Watch SE line while the SE 3’s upgrades include sleep apnoea notifications and temperature sensors. Both the SE 3 and the SE 2 include the Vitals app while the SE 1 does not.
At the chip level, the Apple Watch SE 3 is a notable upgrade from the SE 2. Like the Apple Watch Series 11, the SE 3 runs an S10 chip for stronger performance. This extra processing power enables wrist flick and double tap gestures that the Apple Watch SE and SE 2 lack.
For battery, the Apple Watch SE 3 maintains the 18 hour life span of the SE series while its Low Power Mode extends this up to 32 hours. The SE 3 is also newly fast charge capable, like its older siblings.

The premier Apple Watch model, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is the top of the range.
Like the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2 before it, the Ultra 3 is available in a 49mm titanium case.
Its Always-on Retina display has upgraded to LTPO3 from the LTPO2 in the Apple Watch Ultra 2, while brightness remains steady at 3,000 nits. This is perfect for any lightning conditions on your adventures.
Health, sleep, and vitals tracking remain top of the range with the Apple Watch Ultra 3 while a new emergency SOS via satellite feature ensures you’ll never be stuck anywhere while your Apple Watch has charge.
The Apple Watch for adventurers, the Ultra 3 is water resistant to 100m — twice depth of the Apple Watch Series 11 — and is designed with high speed water sports in mind. Like its previous two incarnations, the Ultra 3 has a depth gauge to 40m and a water temperature sensor.
The new S10 chip has made its way to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 as well, completing the upgrade of the 2025 Apple Watch models to more powerful hardware. Like with the Apple Watch SE 3, this S10 chip enables the wrist flick gesture for more precise control.
Battery-wise the Apple Watch Ultra 3 lasts up to 6 hours longer than the Ultra and the Ultra 2, extending now out to 42 hours. Low Power Mode will still give up to 72 hours of battery life, consistent with previous models. New fast charging technology means you’ll get to 80% battery in about 45 minutes while a 15 minute charge will last up to 12 hours.
